Active Architecture.

While any speaker with built-in amplification can be called “active”, Premières fully active architecture goes far beyond the traditional definition of an active loudspeaker. Leveraging modern digital signal processing and proprietary motional feedback technology, Première delivers a sound experience which was previously unattainable within a similarly compact footprint.
Motional Feedback

Motional Feedback.

Premières woofer is more than meets the eye.
Below the dustcap of Premières custom SEAS-made woofer, an inductive sensor is fitted within the voice-coil former.

This sensor constantly provides information on the cones velocity, which is then used by Premières proprietary, real-time, motional-feedback circuit to form a closed loop feedback system.

This results in drastically reduced distortion at low frequencies and enables an unrivalled bass performance in spite Premières compact enclosure.

Air Motion Transformer.

Invented by German physicist Oskar Heil in the 1970s, the Air Motion Transformer hasn’t lost relevance in today’s world of HiFi.

As opposed to their dome-type counterparts, AMT tweeters use a folded Kapton diaphragm to set air in motion.
The combination of the diaphragms ultra-low mass and high surface area, results in live-like dynamics. 

Unlike smaller AMTs, Premières large AMT features a high bandwidth – allowing for low crossover-points.

This enables a degree of midrange clarity, that is usually reserved to three-way systems with dedicated mid-range transducers.

Despite recent advancements in dome-tweeter technology, high quality AMTs remain the defacto reference in sound quality.

Hypex Ncore

Designed by Bruno Putzeys, Hypex nCore were the first switching amplifiers respected by audiophiles - and to this day, remain amongst the few. nCore also provides the traits more commonly associated with Class D amplifiers - high power density and high efficiency.

Signal Conversion

State-of-the-Art A/D and D/A converters carry signals in and out of the digital domain, to be, and after being processed. Despite said conversion, Premières crossover manages to be more transparent than conventional analog crossovers.

Fully Differential

Première's signal path is fully differential, all the way from the input to the amplifier.
This allows for excellent noise immunity and increased dynamic range.

Low Jitter

Première's custom signal processing is designed to feature ultra-low additive jitter and low input jitter sensitivity. This allows Première to excel even on suboptimal digital sources.

FIR Filtering

Premières advanced DSP crossover uses linear phase FIR filters to allow for a time-coherent playback.

Protection

Première is equipped with multiple protection mechanisms, including protection against over-temperature, overcurrent, and clipping .
